Division of Water Utility
The Division of Water Utility is responsible for treating, processing and delivering a clean water supply to City residential and commercial properties. drinking water within Burlington City. In addition, the Division of Water Utility performs all appropriate functions associated with:
- Processing and treatment of surface water for purification
- Distributing up to 3 Million Gallons of water daily to City of Burlington residents
- Operating, supplying, and maintaining a treatment facility for chemical addition and disinfection
- Maintaining continuous operations 24 / 7 / 365
- Repairing and maintaining over 400 City fire hydrants
- Monitoring and maintaining 32 miles of underground water distribution mains
The 2023 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report (results from 2022) has been mailed. It states, in part, “We are pleased to report that our water meets or exceeds all Federal and State Safety Requirements.
Conserving Water
In a continuous effort to educate you, our valued customer, on the importance of water conservation, here are a few helpful suggestions which will conserve water and save you money...
- When replacing old toilets, purchase ultra low-flow models and save four gallons of water per day per toilet.
- Run the washing machine only when you have a full load of laundry. You'll save thirty gallons of water for each partial load you avoid.
