Department of Housing & Community Development

The Department of Housing and Community Development manages the City’s Affordable Housing Program, participates in the negotiating and monitoring of redevelopment agreements and processes requests for the disposition of City owned property. In addition, the Department of Housing and Community Development performs all appropriate functions associated with:

  • Administering Federal and State grants for capital improvement projects
  • Managing the FEMA Community Rating System Program

Single Family Housing Repair Loans & Grants in New Jersey

Also known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, this provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.

National Flood Insurance Program

Most of Burlington is within the 100 – year flood zone. Protect your Family and Property with Proper Flood Insurance Coverage. The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) offers a cost-saving insurance option that may benefit property owners who were newly mapped into a high-risk flood area on or after October 1, 2008.
