Recycling (and Trash) Notice Regarding High Volumes during COVID Outbreak
During the COVID-19, families are consuming more at home, resulting in overflowing recycling carts and drop-offs (as well as regular Trash). Volumes are up about 20% County-wide, but with no extra trucks or staff to spare, crews are working harder and having trouble keeping up with increased loads.
For residents, this means Recycling (and Trash) crews may not finish their daily routes until 6 pm or later. If they don't finish a route by end of day, they will return on the following business day.
This extra volume also applies to drop-offs. Therefore, it has never been more important to ensure that boxes are empty and flattened before being placed in dumpsters. Please follow recycling guidelines to allow us to serve you better.
