Celebrations & Events
Celebrations & Events is a Division of the Dept. of Public Affairs, and is responsible for coordinating City- and community-sponsored events to increase awareness of Burlington's rich historical and cultural resources, foster community connections, and enhance quality of life for residents and visitors .

Tourism Council
The Tourism Council is an advisory board with representation from each of the City's historical and other major community groups. This Council, under the supervision of the Department of Public Affairs, Council, Mayor and Administrator, coordinates all appropriate functions respecting the advancement of City travel and tourism, including
- Celebration of the City’s holidays, parades, and other events
- Marketing of City resources, especially historical assets
- Oversight, creation, and production of Marketing Materials
- Distribution of Tourism marketing materials
- Coordination of resources for celebrations and public events
- Development and presentation of guided tours
The Tourism Council promotes the City’s rich historical heritage. Intended for traveling families with children, and seniors, these materials include:
